Welcome to the Nail Rock Blog.  This is where you find out live what  the team and I at nail Rock are up to.

So I”ll give you a run down of what went on in September.  We started the month with the Nail Rock AW11 new collection packaging shoot.  This was a day long and we managed to get 13 pictures.  Stress but well worth it.  Along with that we shot the 6 Ann Summers designs for their packaging.  A few weeks before I got to go to the Ann Summers head office in Surrey and took photos of all the Lingerie.  Together we chose the new and upcoming collections and designed wraps to match the chosen outfits, resulting in designs including Madame Massage, a pink wrap with a heart motive to match the dress up outfit of the same name, and fishnet—the perfect complement to a pair of stockings.  It was great as I was able to be a bit saucy and use a model with great cleavage and lips and experiment with more seductive poses than usual.  Nail Rock prides itself on great imagery and this time we wanted to bring a sexy bedroom feel to the nail wraps.  I wanted to take the Ann Summers customer from the boardroom to the bedroom with these styles and I think we definitely achieved that.

So once these wraps launched in Ann Summers I attended 2 of their new store openings to provide a free nail wrapping bar. The first was in Bristol and the second was the new Westfield at Stratford.  Bristol was fab but the new Westfield at Stratford had a stampede.  The new concept store was such a success that queues were bursting in the front doors.  They have a huge black rabbit in the middle of their store and everyone wanted a picture with it.  The first 50 also got a free Rampant Rabbit, and my did they want that.  People were queuing for hours before.

Later in September we had the first Nail exhibition ever put on.  This was Nailphilia and held at Degreeart.com, Vyner Street, London.  It was a month long exhibition and now closed but you can see some of the work of the greats in this months Scratch magazine.

Wednesday 7th September I flew to New York to  work with Mulberry on Fashion Night Out.  This was amazing and although I nearly missed the flight I arrived safe and well.  I had 2 days before hand to attend some meetings and do a bit of shopping.  We designed wraps for Folle Follie and Mulberry in London and New York.  Mike headed up the team in London and I had two teams in New York. One for the Madison Avenue store and one for the new concept store in Spring street, Soho.  Just before I went off to meet the teams for Fashion Night Out I got a call to do the singer Rye Rye nails.  She was attending and performing in Times Square that night and wore the new AW11 collection.  Dalmation and Half moons on hands and Blue and Gold stars and Metallic stripes on feet.

It was an amazing night what with doing Rye Rye and Mulberry party.  We wrapped peoples nails form 6 till 11pm and the partying didn't stop there.  I was on my way home and people were still partying in the streets of New York.  NY fashion week started the next day so I’m sure there were a few sore heads the next day.
